Eero Aarnio has been putting not only himself but finnish design in general on the map ever since the sixties. Design Museum hosted the largest yet retrospective exhibition of the iconic designer's work and in conjunction with the exhibition, published a book. One that's heavy on the pictures. Well, obviously talking about over five decades worth of photos of the beloved designs, a lot of the material was bound to be of varying style and quality. In order to mend this issue and give the book better rhythm and a backbone to lean on, seven classic pieces of Aarnio's furniture were photographed to kick off chapters and promote the exhibition.
The concept is simple enough. The man and his curved designs have continued to cast long shadows in the industry so I wanted the photos to depict that in a pop-colored world.
